Beautiful Crater Lake

by | Jun 6, 2018 | 2018-06, All Dates, News

This weekend I was able to travel up the west coast to one of the oldest national parks in country, beautiful Crater Lake National Park. Its definitely worth the trip if you haven’t been before, as the lake is one of the clearest, deepest and most pure bodies of water in the world. Unfortunately, the weather dampened the color of the lake, but it was still nice to see snow in early June.

About the Author

Zac Kinkade Much like his highly acclaimed uncle, Thomas Kinkade – “The Painter of Light”, Zachary Thomas Kinkade started his career in art at a very early age and has since pursued his creative vision with wholehearted passion and single-mindedness of effort. Over the years, Zachary has won local, regional, national and international recognition in a variety of art competitions, often times against competitors many years older than himself. As a teenager, Zachary attended Fort Worth Academy of Fine Art and eventually graduated with honors. Given his academic performance and accumulated artistic portfolio, he was admitted to and, in time, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Cornell University, a world-class academy of higher learning. He again graduated with honors. Following in the footsteps of his uncle and mentor, Zachary is currently completing work at Art Center School of Design and is working with a number of established artists to continue to develop his own style and technique.

New series exploring the country’s national park system

In a new series of paintings, I will be exploring our countries greatest treasures, the national park system. In each painting, I will give a glimpse to the fora and fauna of a specific park set against its most iconic topographic featuring. In this painting, The Spirit of Guadalupe, I visit Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas.

Tribute to Billy Graham

In memoriam to Billy Graham, my son Zac Kinkade has created a beautiful hand sketch that he has applied to the back of gallery wraps featuring my brother Thom’s painting, “The Cross“. Many of you may know that it was one of my brother’s greatest honors to be asked to create a mural-size image for the redesign of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2010. Rest in peace Billy Graham.

Back on Evine

Zac and I have been invited back on EVINE. This time, we will be on February 1 from 4-6 pm CST. I truly have fun there and always look forward to blurting out odd statements to the chagrin of my producers. And, Zac will be sketching live again so my co-hosts can ask him all manner of questions to his general befuddlement.
